HONOURS PROGRAMME IN COMMUNICATIONS AND NETWORKING

 

About the programme


The Department of Communications and Networking (Comnet) invites 2 – 4 exceptionally qualified Master's students to join the department's honours programme in autumn 2017. Students admitted to the honours programme are associated to one of the department's research groups, and will have the opportunity for part-time employment during semesters in research-related work. In summer the students have the possibility of entering into full-time employment in the department's competitive summer internship programme. The honours students will also have access to the department's research facilities (wireless and networking lab, computing services, and department’s library).

 

Who can apply


To qualify, a student must have Communications Engineering as major in their M.Sc. degree studies and show good progress in their studies. The honours status is granted for one year at a time for a maximum of two years. Students starting their 1st year or continuing the second year Communications Engineering MSc studies in autumn 2017 can apply to the honours programme.

 

How to apply


Deadline for honours status applications for the academic year 2017-2018 is Monday, June 12, 2017, 3 p.m. To apply, please submit the following documents in  one PDF-format to the recruiting system by using the below link.

 

1.       A brief CV.

 

2.       A copy of study plan ("HOPS") for your M.Sc. studies.

 

3.       An up-to-date Oodi transcript ("Oodi-ote") of your studies.

 

You will have the opportunity to update your transcript concerning your studies in spring 2017 until Monday, 7 August. If you are starting your MSc studies in autumn 2017, you must complete your B.Sc. studies and obtain your degree certificate by Monday, 7 August.

 

Selection process


Students will be selected to the honours programme according to their study merits. Selection will be made by the steering group of the Comnet department in September. Selected students will enter the programme in October 2017.
