3. Research field:
High-frequency electronic/photonic devices and their system applications to
communications, sensors and measurements in the regions of microwave,
millimeter-wave and terahertz wave.


4. Teaching Subjects:


1) Graduate classes in Optical Electronics at Division of Advanced Electronics and Optical
Science


2) Undergraduate classes in Optical Electronics at Course of Electronics


5. Qualifications:


An applicant should have the following.


1) Ph.D. or equivalent in related field/s is required.


2) Specialized knowledge in high-frequency design and measurement is preferable.


3) Capability of communicating in Japanese on a daily basis.


4) English language ability sufficient to fulfill one’s work duties.


6. Anticipated starting date:
April 1st, 2018 or later.


7. Employment status:
Full-time


8. Work hours:
Discretionary Labor System, Special Work Type, based on the ‘Regulations Pertaining
to Working Hours, Holidays and Leave for National University Corporation
Osaka University Staff’.


9. Salary and Benefits:
Based on the ‘Salary Regulations for National University Corporation Osaka University
Staff Subject to Annual Salary System’.


10. Social insurance:
Successful candidate will join National Public Service Personnel Mutual Aid Associations,
Employment insurance, and Workers’ Accident Compensation Insurance.

2) A publication list sectioned for (a) Peer-reviewed or refereed original papers, (b)
Peer-reviewed international conference proceedings, (c) non-peer-reviewed
international conference proceedings, (d) Review papers, (e) Book or chapters.
Each publication must include names of all authors, journal name, publisher name,
year, volume, number, and pages


3) Reprints or copies of ten papers of those most representing the candidate’s research


4) A concise personal statement describing the candidate’s research details by referring
papers in the publication list as a document (within two pages)


5) A concise personal statement describing about the future vision for research and
that about education after the assignment in the department (within two pages)


6) Academic societies and social activities


7) List of two professional references to whom the University can ask for opinions on
the research and education experiences of the candidate


8) Other information such as academic awards, Patents with their brief descriptions,
a list of research grants awarded as a principal investigator

14. Selection process:
The Selection Committee qualifies all candidates, based on the documents submitted.
An interview may be scheduled, if necessary, and will be informed to selected candidates.
