Introduction

 

INL is seeking a qualified Post-doctoral Research Fellow to work within the research team on the development ofnano and quantum structures for thin film solar cells.

 

Job Role & Key Responsibilities

The Post-doctoral Research Fellow will perform research and development in the field of implementation of nanostructures and quantum structures in thin film solar cells. The Research Fellow will operate a molecular beam epitaxy system and is responsible for developing growth processes for Cu(In,Ga)Se2 quantum dots, their characterization and application in photovoltaic energy conversion.

 

Job Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • PhD in Physics, Material science, or other related field;
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the topics: semiconductor physics and nanostructure growth, Cu(In,Ga)Se2 chalcopyrite semiconductors, materials growth, molecular beam epitaxy, thin film solar cell devices, quantum dots, characterization of semiconductors and devices, transmission electron microscopy;
  • A strong a track-record for solving materials problems;
  • International mobility experience will be valued.

 

Personal Skills

  • Strong motivation to work both independently and as part of a team in an interdisciplinary environment, with the ability to pay close attention to detail and to meet deadlines;
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in the dissemination of results to the scientific community are expected;
  • Capable of establishing collaborative ties with distinguished academic groups and relevant industry partners.

 

Languages

 

  • English is the working language of INL. Therefore, excellent communication skills in English are required.
