in the Department of Advanced Technology Fusion, Saga University

1. Outline

The Department of Advanced Technology Fusion, Saga University, invites applications for one
full-time position of Associate Professor.

The Department, which has approximately 80 graduate students including Ph.D. students, is
committed to excellence in teaching as well as in research. The Faculty conducts research in diverse
areas of mechanics, electricity and chemistry, and fusion of these areas is a special feature of the
Department. Details can be found at the Department's web site.


2. Qualifications and Research Fields

Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or a Doctor of Engineering or related field degree(s). 'The
Department will consider applicants with a research background in development and analysis of
energy saving biological materials by molecular spectroscopy. The successful candidate will be
expected to teach effectively not only at the undergraduate but also at the master’s and doctoral
levels, and to develop active research programs.

3. Language Requirements for Teaching

Japanese language at the standard of a native speaker (speaking, reading and writing) will be
essential for teaching at undergraduate/masters levels. At the graduate level, some English language
teaching may be feasible.

7. Salary System

Annual Salary System adopted by the “Saga University Regulations about Annual Salary System
for Teaching Staff”; Full-time teaching staff members, except for those at the attached schools,
working at Saga University at the time when they apply can continue to choose the “Saga
University Regulations about Monthly Salary for Staff”.
