3. Fields of Specialty
Research and technology fields related to Internet of Things (IoT) or IoT security. The core
technologies of IoT are terminal technology (embedded security, sensing technology, low power
technology, RFID security, etc.), network technology (sensor network protocol, wireless transmission and
control technology for sensors, D2D network protocol, etc.), and information infrastructure technology
(cryptography, information security, privacy protection, trust, usable security, etc.)

 


4. Responsible Subjects
Subjects related to basic physics laboratory and undergraduate courses (Algorithms and Data
Structures and Programming Exercises, Information Security Engineering Laboratory, etc.), and graduate
courses

 


5. Term of Employment
Associate Professor position: Permanent Full-Time (until the mandatory retirement age)
Assistant Professor position (UEC Tenure Track): Five years from the start of the employment. If the
tenure is not granted, however, maximum of two years may be added to the period of employment in
order to provide preparation time for transfer.

Annual Salary System (Based on rules of UEC)

 


7. Start of Employment
January 1, 2018 (or later at the earliest possible date)

 


8. Selection Procedure

9. Eligibility for Application


1. Successful applicant should be 35 years of age or younger when the period of employment of this
position starts. (The age requirement is set for this job opening because this position will be
subsidized by “Supporting Expansion of Recruitment Opportunities for Talented Young Researcher”
project under Subsidy for Enhancement and Promotion of National University Reform by Ministry of
Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. In addition, it falls under Ordinance for
Employment Measures Act, Article 1-3, Clause 1, Item 3-(c).)


2. Applicants must possess a doctorate degree or equivalent qualification.


3. Those who have a good research record of the above-mentioned fields of specialty, and can
contribute to the progress of the fields through activities in education and research.


4. Applicants must be able to teach the above listed courses in the article 4.


5. Applicants are capable of guiding students in Japanese.


6. Applicants can conduct worldwide research.

will be awarded the tenured status (i.e., guaranteed employment until the mandatory retirement) from
