DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS



The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New Brunswick Saint John invites applications for a tenure-track Instructor, or Senior Instructor position, to commence July 1, 2018. In addition to teaching undergraduate mathematics courses and service, the duties of this position will include the coordination of the Flora Beckett Math and Science Help Centre. This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.



The successful applicant should hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics. The position is open to all qualified applicants; however the Department is especially interested in candidates whose area of expertise complements or overlaps with the Department's existing areas of mathematical strength (fluid dynamics, combinatorics).



The Mathematics and Statistics Department consists of seven full-time faculty members. We offer Majors in Mathematics and in Statistics and maintain a graduate programme. UNB Saint John has a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and training. Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating excellence in teaching and potential for undergraduate project supervision.

Three letters of reference should also be arranged, with at least one letter addressing the applicant's teaching ability and experience. The teaching portfolio should comprise statements of teaching philosophy, interests and experience, sample syllabi and other teaching materials, and evaluations of teaching.
