The Department of Computer Science is looking for TAs for courses in the bachelor programme and master programme in computer science from 3 September 2018 – 3 February 2019, block 1 & 2.  


Please note, that only English speaking candidates are accepted for the master courses (MSc).  


There are TA positions on the following courses:  


Computer Science:  

  • Advanced algorithms and data structures (AADS)  

  • Advanced Computer Systems (ACS)  

  • Advanced programming (AP)  

  • Advanced Topics in Machine Learning (ATML)  

  • Big Data Systems (BDS)  

  • Computer Systems (CompSys)  

  • Disk Mathematics and Algorithms (DMA)  

  • Introduction to computer graphics (Graphics)  

  • IT Project Management (ITP)  

  • IT security (ITS)  

  • Logic in Computer Science (LICS)  

  • Machine Learning (ML)  

  • Mathematical Analysis and Statistics in Computer Science (MASD)  

  • Modelling and analysis of data (MAD)  

  • Programming Massively Parallel Hardware (PMPH)  

  • Programming and problem solving (PoP)  

  • Vision and Image Processing (VIP)  


Communication & it:  

  • KOMIT Analysis, design and regulation of IT infrastructure  

  • KOMIT Basic Computer Science  

  • KOMIT Concept development and innovation

Work assignments  

The TA's assignments vary from course to course but usually include:  


Regarding the course:  

1. Preparation and conduction of weekly exercises.  

2. Preparation of the course before the course starts and possibly assistance during exam/reexam.  

3. Weekly TA meetings, including continuous communication with the course responsible and the other TA’s about work assignments.  

4. Arithmetic test and preparation of assignments.  

5. Correction and approval of assignments.  

6. Guiding and answering questions from students about the course outside of exercise classes (e.g. in Absalon).  


Outside the course:  

1. Participation in TA workshop at IND, if you have not participated before. The course you will get the didactic tools you will need to be a TA.  

2. Answering emails from the department regarding the work assignments above and also keeping deadlines and appointments.  



The TA positions are to be filled mainly with applicants who within the recent years have passed their bachelor programme in Computer Science. Students who have passed the bachelor programme (or are currently enrolled in the master programme) in Mathematics, Cognition & IT, Communication & IT or Health Informatics can also be considered as far as their competences are relevant for the course. You must be enrolled as a student if you wish to be a TA. In order be a TA on BSc-courses we expect you to primarily communicate in Danish, and as a TA in an MSc-course you are expected to be proficient in English.  


Salary and conditions of employment  

The employment is made in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the National Union for Student Teachers (SUL)/the Union of Danish Medical Students (FADL) for Student Teachers at the Danish universities and the annexed protocol on Student Teachers. The employment period is 5 years from 1 September 2018 until and including 31 August 2023. However, it is a condition that you are an active student enrolled at a higher education programme.  


The specific number of hours per course is appointed each semester. The salary is 212,41 dkr per hour.
