The Center for Information Processing and the University and State Library of Münster at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster is in the context of the project "sciebo Research Data Services - Research Data Management Services and Tools for


Scientist "(sciebo RDS) a position (100%) for 
a research associate (13 TV-L) as a software developer


to occupy. The position is limited to 24 months, and an extension of 12 months is dependent on the approval of the DFG. The weekly working hours are currently 39 hours and 50 minutes.


The aim of the sciebo RDS project is to integrate easy-to-use research data management (FDM) tools into the campus cloud sciebo and to create end-to-end FDM work processes, from the data management plan to the publication and long-term preservation of research data. It will be based on the established cloud service sciebo, which is based on the software owncloud.



  • Integration of a data management plan tool in the owncloud environment
  • Conception and realization of tools for the publication and archiving of research data
  • Integration of various software components into the system landscape of the WWU Münster, including user administration
  • Development of owncloud plugins
  • Development of connectors to web services
  • Development of REST web services
  • Conception and realization of easy-to-use tools for research data management (FDM)


To be expected:

  • Completed academic qualification for at least six semesters (eg in the field of natural sciences, mathematics, computer science, business informatics)
  • Profound knowledge in programming
  • Experience with versioning tools (eg Git, CVS, SVN) and / or knowledge in Continuous Integration
  • Independent training in complex IT systems and the willingness to keep this knowledge up to date
