The Opportunity

The successful candidate will work on the development of advanced methods for energy system modelling and optimisation using the latest optimisation and machine learning techniques. These will be applied to energy market mechanism design, decision support, and operation and control of microgrids. The work will be within the Monash Net Zero Initiative and will carry out research on peer-to-peer trading, transactive energy markets, dynamic pricing, and control of various Distributed Energy Resources such as PV, EV's and battery storage systems for optimal and secure operation of microgrids. You will report to the director of the Energy Theme at the Faculty of IT and work closely with researchers at the Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering as part of the cross disciplinary team working closely with the Net Zero / Microgrid delivery team.


This role is a full-time position.


The successful applicant must hold a PhD in a relevant discipline.
