Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering: Tenure-Track Assistant Professor

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) commencing January 1, 2023, subject to budgetary approval.

To be considered for the position the applicant should have a PhD degree in Software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant discipline. The Department has identified a need for software engineering expertise in areas such as IoT, artificial intelligence, software architecture, UX design, and/or others that complement departmental strengths. UNB's ECE department has research clusters in areas of biomedical engineering, communications, and smart energy systems, among others, offering a collaborative and supportive research environment. The successful applicant will develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in software engineering, ideally of interest to both software and electrical engineering students. The candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded research program, supervise graduate students, and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and academic service in software engineering. The University of New Brunswick has approximately 6,700 full time students and 475 faculty members at its Fredericton campus. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering hosts approximately 270 undergraduate students, 66 graduate students and 14 faculty members, and offers degrees in Electrical Engineering and Software Engineering (in collaboration with the Faculty of Computer Science). The Department is an active participant in an accredited software Co-Op program which places students in work terms across Canada.
