Tenure Track Position in Information Technology Management

Located in downtown Toronto, the largest and most culturally diverse city in Canada and on the territory of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee and the Wendat Peoples, the School of Information Technology Management in the Ted Rogers School of Management at welcomes applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor effective July 1, 2021 subject to final budgetary approval. 

The successful candidate will engage in a combination of teaching, including mentoring and supervision of students, innovative and independent research or creative activity that is externally funded and produces cutting-edge, high quality results and service duties, while maintaining an inclusive, equitable, and collegial work environment across all activities.

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Information Systems or a closely related field by the appointment date. Candidates who are all-but-dissertation (ABD) and are very close to completion in Information Systems or a closely related field may also be considered. 

In addition, the successful candidate must present evidence of: 

  • experience/ability in undergraduate and graduate course development and teaching; including the ability to effectively teach courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels in one or more of the following technical areas: database management systems; systems analysis, design and implementation; enterprise architecture, network infrastructure, distributed/cloud computing, cybersecurity
  • a strong research profile as evidenced by, but not limited to, peer-reviewed publications, working papers, public policy contributions, presentations at academic conferences, community and professional work, grants, research related awards and other writing or creative production that contributes to the visibility and prominence of the discipline; priority research areas include: digital transformation and the future of work; cybersecurity and blockchain; digital enterprise and social media; user experience in the digital enterprise; data science and data analytics, including responsible AI/critical data studies/ethics/responsible data science;
  • the ability to establish and maintain an independent, externally funded research program;
  • research collaborations or strong potential/ability to attract industrial and community collaborative initiatives;
  • the capacity for effective research training;commitment to our values of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion as it pertains to service, teaching, and scholarly research or creative activities, including a demonstrated ability to make learning accessible and inclusive for a diverse student population; and 
  • an ability and willingness to contribute to the life of the School, Faculty and the University through collegial service.
