Salary Commensurate With Experience

The Department of Library and Information Science seeks applicants for two non-tenure-track faculty positions who will teach in the undergraduate Information Technology and Informatics program. These appointments will likely be made at the rank of Instructor for an initial one or two year term; an exception may be made for a very highly qualified candidate. The position is renewable.

Responsibilities include teaching and service within the department and school, in accordance with the university policy for non-tenure-track appointments. A typical teaching load is four courses (12 credits) per semester with possible options to teach additional courses in summer sessions.

Position 1: General IT and Programming Fundamentals: This individual will teach foundational information technology topics with an emphasis on Linux and Windows operating systems, networking and database fundamentals, and object-oriented programming in Python. In addition to teaching, they will help onboard part-time instructors who teach these foundational courses; assure consistency in the teaching of all sections; and assist with evaluating the teaching in these classes.

Position 2: Cybersecurity and Enterprise Technologies: This individual will teach cybersecurity topics with an emphasis on information security and assurance, cyber-analytics, and incident analysis and response. In addition to teaching, they will help onboard part-time instructors, assure consistency in the teaching of all sections, and assist with evaluating the teaching in these classes.

Minimum Education and Experience

Master’s degree is required. Applicants should have a demonstrated record of effective teaching of college undergraduates as well as professional work experience in the IT field.
