Our School of Computing is home to 70 academics, 1400 students and holds professional accreditation from the British Computer Society with some of the most impressive computing lab facilities in the UK. The role As a Lecturer in Cyber Security you will develop our successful undergraduate NCSC BEng and post graduate MSc programme as well as other programmes in our portfolio. This will include teaching and developing modules in subject areas including cyber security, network security, digital forensics, e-health, malware analysis, incident response, cryptography, virtualisation and cybercrime. You will develop strong links to the security industry and law enforcement with an aim to developing your own interests in related emerging areas. Our ideal candidate must demonstrate enthusiasm for working with industry in applied research and in the development of teaching to enhance the employability of our graduates. A developing track record in research publications, income generation and research grants is essential. You will have the opportunity to contribute to research as a member of our Advanced Blockchain Identity Lab and our training Security Operations Centre (SOCLAB). You will be encouraged to engage and collaborate in interdisciplinary research with colleagues in other areas within the School and externally. As a lecturer, you will work within a vibrant research and teaching group, where you will initially have 30% of your time dedicated to building research. There is support for travel to conferences, purchasing equipment and developing your network. We offer a range of development including our Research and Innovation Office who support grant funding applications. Lastly, you will be mentored by a Professor and we aim to have you quickly join a PhD student supervisory team.
