DescriptionThe Psychology Department at Yale University is seeking a full-time multi-year lecturer in multivariate statistics for social and behavioral research. This position is proposed to start on July 1, 2024. The primary roles would be to (a) teach statistical methods used in social and behavioral science to graduate and undergraduate students and (b) be available as a consultant/collaborator to students and faculty on their papers and grant proposals. Common statistical methods that students and faculty might need some support with include (but are not limited to): structural equation modeling, factor analysis, and longitudinal analysis/time-lagged analysis. It is expected that the person who fills this role will be familiar with and able to work with different types of variables (e.g., various distributions, collected from questionnaires, interviews, and behavioral tasks) and be able to assist with addressing different analytic needs (e.g., working with missing data, writing analysis scripts in R, MPlus, or other common packages). The lecturer will be expected to teach one course per semester, hold weekly drop-in hours, and be available for consultation as needed. The position is for three years and is renewable.
