Grade 7/8 - £34,189 to £50,132 per annum, dependent on experience
The Department of Computing is looking for an outstanding individual with a game development background who can make a strong contribution to teaching in areas such as C++ programming, 3D graphics programming (e.g., DirectX), console programming (e.g., PlayStation) and game engines (e.g. Unreal/Unity).

You will be joining the Game and Intelligent Systems (GIS) group which is responsible for the delivery of three strong, industry accredited technical game development undergraduate and postgraduate courses with excellent NSS results. The group also runs the Steel Minions game studio: the only university studio in the UK which develops and publishes its own PlayStation games.

You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality learning environment for students and contributing to the delivery of existing courses and development of new and exciting programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will be involved in module leadership and delivery, you will also be expected to contribute specialist knowledge to the supervision of dissertations, development of the curriculum, industrial connections and, where appropriate, to the research agenda of the department.

As well as the ability to inspire, enthuse and connect with a range of stakeholders, e.g., students and external clients from a wide range of backgrounds, you will need prior professional experience working in the games industry or connected industry. You must also have a Masters Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience and well developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues in game development.
