About the Position:

The Faculty of Engineering and Design invites applications from qualified Indigenous candidates for at least one appointment in any unit of the Faculty, beginning July 1, 2019. The rank of appointment is open (Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Full Professor). All areas of research and teaching focus of relevance to units in the Faculty of Engineering and Design will be considered.

Appointment will be either preliminary (tenure-track) or with tenure, depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate(s).

Candidates are asked to identify the unit where an appointment is sought. Cross-appointments will be considered.


Applicants should hold, at a minimum, a graduate degree in a relevant discipline. In the case of some units, preference will be given to applicants who hold (or are in the process of completing) a doctoral degree, or the equivalent, in a relevant discipline. The successful candidate(s) will have or demonstrate the ability to develop an externally funded, high-quality research program; a commitment to effective teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels; community engagement; an ability to contribute effectively to the academic life of the unit(s) of appointment, the Faculty of Engineering and Design, and the University. Candidates are encouraged to identify community connections.

If applying to one of the engineering departments, membership in a Canadian professional engineering association is required at the time of appointment or within two years of appointment.
