This is a permanent full-time position subject to prerequisites for employment and performance requirements determined by ยงยง 61, 62 of the Higher Education Act of the Federal State of Hessen (HHG).
We are looking for an excellent academic being active in research and teaching in applied electromagnetics. Prerequisitem is an outstanding record of peer-reviewed publications in at least one of the following fields, ideally in high-impact publication journals:

photonics
quantum engineering
Terahertz technology
multiphysics systems.

Experience in acquiring third-party funding is expected. Participation in the major research topics of the University of Kassel, namely nanotechnology and information technology, is of particular importance for building a distinctive profile within the university.

Therefore, we invite candidates with an attitude to cooperate and to contribute to interdisciplinary cooperation in
research (e. g. with departments of the information technology or computer science clusters, the Institute for Nanostructure Technology and Analytics (INA) and the Center for Interdisciplinary Nanostructure Science and Technology (CINSaT)).

The applicant is expected to offer German and English courses in electromagnetic fields and waves
numerical methods theory and modeling of semiconductor components in the B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics and Computer Science as well as in the international M.Sc. program Electrical Communication Engineering.

The Applied Electromagnetics department will also be involved in offering basic courses in the aforementioned undergraduate programs. It is expected that the applicant has very good teaching skills and will engage in the university's academic self-administration.
