Full Professorship for Autonomous Intelligent Systems University of Freiburg Department of Computer Science

The faculty is looking for candidates, who have an internationally visible research profile in robotics and who used modern machine learning methodology for their research. They should be able to represent their research field in both research and teaching. The professorship is explicitly available also to highly qualified young researchers, who showed the potential for building up an internationally leading research group.

The professorship is integrated in a strong research environment that focuses particularly on machine learning and embedded systems. Collaboration with both areas will be expected. Further, the professorship is part of the Center for Intelligent Machine-Brain lnterfacing Technology (IMBIT), which links robotics, neuroscience and microsystems engineering. lt is expected that candidates show openness to provide their robotics expertise into this interdisciplinary research center.

The professorship must support the teaching in the Bachelor and Master programs in Computer Science and Embedded Systems Engineering.

Prerequisites for the employment of Professors are a university degree, an outstanding dissertation and an excellent publication record. Substantial achievements and experience in academic research and teaching, at the level of a Habilitation according to the German academic system, are expected.
