The University of California, Berkeley invites applications for approved tenure and tenure-track positions in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the Assistant Professor and Associate/ Full Professor levels. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Joint appointments with department-affiliated institutes and initiatives, or other UC Berkeley departments, will also be considered.

With priority given to overall originality and promise versus sub-area of specialization, preference will be given to applicants interested in creating innovative and far-reaching solutions to important problems in electrical engineering and/or computer science, as well as to applicants whose research, teaching or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education. Assistant Professor

Individuals should submit their application at this level if they meet one of the following conditions: Current or recent PhD candidate or graduate; current or recent postdoc; current assistant professor (including those who are “senior” assistant professors near tenure). Please note that this level determination is only for application review purposes, not the ultimate appointment level of the finalist.

• 3-5 letters of reference required

Recommenders providing letters of reference should submit them as early as possible, preferably by the application deadline. Applicants are responsible for asking their references to upload letters as part of the online application process.

Associate/ Full Professor

Individuals should submit their application at this level if they meet one of the following conditions: Current tenured professor; position equivalent to tenured professor (ie., at an international university).
