Lecturer in Telecommunications (Teaching and Research)Department: School of Electronic Engineering & Computer Science OverviewAbout the Role We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Telecommunications to support ongoing research and the teaching expansion in our Joint Programme/Joint Education Institution with Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT). About You To apply, you should have a PhD and must have an appropriate track-record of high-quality research in the field of Telecommunications. It is essential that you have clear and ambitious plans for your future research and are able to develop research proposals and effectively manage subsequent awards. Queen Mary is a signatory of DORA declaration, and as such the quality of your research will be judged on its own merits. The post also requires an effective communicator of new and complex ideas, in both verbal and written form, and the ability to engage the interest and enthusiasm of the target audience. You will have teaching experience in Higher Education and able to deliver teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the following areas: Wireless Networks, Sensors and Radio Frequency Identification, and Communication Systems Electronics. This post is based in London but you will spend a significant amount of time in Beijing for teaching and assessment so you must therefore be able to travel regularly to China. About the School of EECS The School is well known for pioneering research and pride ourselves on our international reputation. We are equal first in the UK for the impact of our Computer Science research, and second in the country for our Electronic Engineering research output (REF 2021). The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London and is a full time, permanent appointment, available immediately; the successful candidate will preferably be in post by February 2023 and no later than 1 March 2023. Starting salary will be in the range of £44,931 - £55,805 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. A UK Lecturer is equivalent to Assistant Professor in the USA.
