Lecturer (Teaching and Scholarship) in Electronic & Electrical EngineeringThe University of Leeds and Southwest Jiaotong University have established the SWJTU – Leeds Joint School at the SWJTU campus in Chengdu, China. Having delivered 4 undergraduate taught programmes successfully (in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering with Transport and Computer Science), both universities now wish to grow the Joint School to deliver further Undergraduate, Masters and PhD programmes, and establish a thriving research and student exchange community. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual with an interest in teaching with scholarship, and disciplinary expertise in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. We are looking for the knowledge, experience and creativity needed to apply innovative modes of course delivery both online and offline in Chengdu, China. To achieve this, you will work full time in Chengdu over approximately 2 teaching semesters per year (up to 20 weeks). As well as delivering your course material, this extended stay in Chengdu will allow you to develop your scholarship ideas and the strong relationships you’ll need to start international collaborations, feeding this through into your teaching practice and improving the student experience. With this ability to collaborate effectively and to motivate and inspire learners, you will become a valued academic member of the SWJTU – Leeds Joint School, where you will deliver innovative teaching in education and help introduce new forms of learning.
