Description

About us:

The Chair of Resilience of Technical Systems researches technical concepts and methods to make technical systems sustainable, fail-safe and thus resilient.

In order to successfully apply and implement existing as well as new sustainable technologies and solutions, they must also offer a level of reliability and resilience. Successful and ultimately sustainable implementation can be ensured, just if the solutions are able to function without disruption and recover quickly from disruptive events.

Project description / Your task:

The advertised position is based on a project dealing with the development and testing of a location-based and scanner-less system for picking processes in logistics. The picking process is generally the most labor-intensive process of all warehouse processes and can take up to 60% of all work processes in the warehouse, therefore their optimization is of central importance to increase the logistic performance. The core of the project is the development of an intelligent glove, which precisely and resiliently localizes and detects picking movements and thus can perform scanner-less registrations.

Your duties will include:

  • Implementing resilient sensor data pre-processing using sensor data fusion and AI data analysis.
  • The conceptualization of robust 3D zone detection for dynamic walkway optimization.
  • The extraction of features of the movements and gestures

Requirements:

  • You have a university degree in engineering, natural sciences, embedded systems, microsystems technology or a comparable course of study.
  • You already have ideally a basic knowledge of sensors and electronics and a sound knowledge of data preparation, signal processing and programming of embedded systems.
  • You have a high level of self-motivation to research sustainable processes.
  • You use your ability to think and work analytically and conceptually in a results-oriented manner.
  • With your independent and structured way of working you enrich the interdisciplinary teamwork of our department.
  • Business fluent German (B2/C1 level) and very good written and spoken English complete your profile.
