Lectureship in Actuarial Science UCC, School of Mathematical Science

Applications are invited for the above Lectureship in Actuarial Science. This post is within the Department of Statistics in the School of Mathematical Sciences.

The School of Mathematical Sciences offers degrees in mathematical sciences, including the BSc in Financial Mathematics and Actuarial Science and MSc in Actuarial Science, for which the School has full accreditation agreements with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the first 8 Core Technical subjects. Additionally the School offers a new joint BSc Risk & Actuarial Studies programme in partnership with Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU). The School also provides service courses to students in all four Colleges of the University at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. There is a staff of 23.5 academics and a range of postgraduate programmes.

Applicants for the full-time Actuarial role will be expected to hold:

a fellowship (or close to completing the qualification for such) of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or equivalent membership status of another professional actuarial body

AND/OR

a PhD in Actuarial Science

The successful applicants will be expected to teach and examine under the direction of the Head of School, undertake administrative duties, engage in research and play a key role in the delivery with joint programmes in China.
