Position Qualifications/Responsibilities

 

Position Qualifications - Responsibilities:

The Department of Secondary & Middle Grades Education hires part-time faculty to teach undergraduate or graduate courses including educational foundations, reading, methods, and supervision of interns in schools. P-12 and university teaching experience is preferred. These positions are on an as-needed, per semester basis to teach traditional and non-traditional students at an on- or off-campus site.

Required Education - Experience - Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

Qualified applications must have earned at least a Master’s degree with at least 18 hours of relevant graduate credits, or its foreign equivalent, or its equivalent in training, ability, and/or experience.

The Department of Secondary and Middle Grades Department offers an undergraduate program in Middle Grades Education and graduate programs (M.A.T., M.Ed., Ed.S., Ed.D.) in various middle and secondary area concentrations. Service courses are also offered to support secondary, elementary, and P-12 programs. Departmental faculty are committed to the development of expertise in teaching and learning in collaboration with units across campus and local school districts.
