The Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology
is at the forefront of the university’s focus on developing innovative solutions to real-life problems. With over 5,000 undergraduate students in engineering, information technology and aviation, we focus on creating graduates who are industry focused and motivated to make an immediate contribution to the workplace. The faculty is undergoing an exciting period of growth and, as such, is seeking to make two appointments, Dean of the School of Engineering and Dean of the School of Software and Electrical Engineering.
Both Deans
will be responsible for the academic leadership and operational management of their school in terms of research, education and industry connections. Reporting to the Executive Dean of the faculty, the Deans will work collaboratively with other Deans, Associate Deans, Centre Directors and Department Chairs to develop and implement strategies aligned with the University’s strategic director to be one of Australia’s leading University in Science, Technology and Innovation.
The appointees will have outstanding research and management experience as well as possessing a collegial style. They will have superior leadership skills, the ability to continue Swinburne’s strong links to industry and the capacity to grow the external profile of their schools. Furthermore they will be excited by the opportunity to join one of Melbourne’s most successful universities and lead two of its largest and most important Schools.
