Applications are invited for a: PhD Thesis in the area of Machine Learning of Spatial-Temporal Mobility Data The increasingly wide use of sensors of all kinds in the transportation domain (traffic sensors, GPS traces, cell phone data, smartphone data, etc.) leads to a flood of machine-generated information. Improvements in sensor technologies mean that this information is usually at a higher spatial or temporal resolution than it was possible before. The AIT develops software solutions for modeling such spatial-temporal human mobility data providing new insights into dependencies between movements of people and goods in the multimodal transportation systems such as trip patterns, transportation means, routes and other aspects of mobility. Description

Formulation of an internationally competitive thesis research problem addressing learning dependencies and trends in large and complex transport-related datasets, in close collaboration with an interdisciplinary research team

Candidate profile

Outstanding master´s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics or related field
