South China University of Technology (SCUT) is one of China's key multidisciplinary universities. The School of Software Engineering (SSE) at SCUT is one of the National Software Schools with Software Engineering doctoral discipline. We are recruiting excellent professionals as professors or associate professors in software engineering related research areas.
Application Requirements:
- Have doctoral degree, and have study and working experience in first-class universities at home or abroad.
- Can work in a team, and also have independent research capability. Have conducted intensive research in related areas, and have published influential academic papers on related important international journals.
- Priority will be given to those who have worked in high-level overseas universities, research institutes or famous industrial companies for 2 years or more, or have worked in famous domestic universities, research institutes as associate professors or equivalent positions, or have more than 2 years’ postdoctoral research experience.
- For fresh graduated PhDs who have obtained outstanding research achievements during PhD studying period, exceptions could be made.
For different research directions, you should be able to teach the following courses.
Research Direction 1: Cloud Computing and Big Data Processing
- “Big Data Processing”, “Cloud Computing Technology”, “Data Visualization”, “Parallel Computing”, “Distributed System” and “Operating System”
Research Direction 2: Social Computing and Text analysis
- “Digital Media Processing Technology”, “Message Retrieval Technology”, “Text Mining”, “Natural Language Processing” and “Principles and Technology of Human- Computer Interaction” and “Pattern Recognition”
Research Direction 3: Software Engineering Methods and Tools
- “System Analysis and Design”, “Software Development Formalization Engineering Methods”, “Software Development Tools and Environment”, “Software Testing Technology”, “Trustable Software Design” and “Human-Computer Interfacing Methods”
Research Direction 4: Service Computing
- “Software Architecture for Services”, “Service Computing”, “Semantics Web” and “Software Architecture”
Research Direction 5: Data Mining
- “Data Mining”, “Machine Learning” and “Database System”
Remuneration and related supports:
- Salary: 15,000 – 30,000 RMB per month.
- Housing: Subsidized accommodation around campus;
For excellent professionals: 300,000 – 600,000 RMB for real estate purchase and 150,000 – 200,000 RMB settling-in allowance, or provide on-campus renting apartments and 50,000 RMB relocating fee.
- Startup Research funding:
Startup research funding from university;
For excellent professionals: 700,000 – 6,000,000 RMB for 5 years.
