About the Department: 
The Department of Applied Mathematics & Sciences is an academic unit within the College of Engineering, and will become a major component of the planned College of Science. The department is responsible for providing teaching in mathematics, statistics, physics and chemistry to students majoring in engineering disciplines. The department offers a BSc in Applied Mathematics & Statistics, which was launched in August 2015 with concentrations in Financial Mathematics and Mathematical Biology.

About the Role: 
Starting in Spring 2017 or Fall 2017, this position will conduct teaching, research and academic service. Academic rank is open.

The candidate is expected to have a strong research potential, demonstrated by relevant publications in high-impact journals, and teaching experience in above mentioned areas. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills. 
Successful candidates are expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, establish and maintain active research programs that lead to peer-reviewed publications in high-impact professional journals, and provide service to the department, the university, and the profession.

Successful candidates are also expected to be involved in thematic research within one or more of the university research priority areas.

About The Person: 
Applicants must have an earned doctoral degree in Mathematics or Statistics or a closely related field from a reputable university. The Department is particularly interested in motivated candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Numerical Analysis, Financial Mathematics, Mathematical and Computational Biology, Optimization and Biostatistics.

The candidate is expected to have a strong research potential, demonstrated by relevant publications in high-impact journals, and teaching experience in above mentioned areas. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills. The medium of instruction across Khalifa University is English.
