Assistant Professor of Software Engineering Technology Oregon Institute of Technology
The Computer Systems Engineering Technology (CSET) Department at Oregon Institute of Technology invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track position in Software Engineering Technology (SET). Starting date for this position is the first academic quarter in which the candidate is available. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Oregon Tech's faculty salaries are competitive with our comparator institutions.
The SET program prepares students for a future in designing and implementing both large and small scale software applications. In addition, it provides a solid understanding of object oriented analysis and design, software testing, design patterns, data structures, operating systems, networking, databases, and compiler methods. Applicants should have expertise and experience in all aspects of software development. C++ is the core language in our program and all applicants are expected to be competent with C++. Particular skills of interest include: Networking, Operating Systems, Web Development, Mobile Development, Big Data, and Software Engineering Processes. Primary responsibilities include developing courses and teaching lecture and laboratory classes. Other responsibilities include advising undergraduate students and pursuing professional development. Minimum Qualifications: Three years of industrial software development experience and a Master's Degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
