Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Software Engineer Auckland University of Technology Faculty of Design and Creative Technologies
The School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences at AUT is seeking to appoint one permanent full-time lecturer and invites applications from suitably qualified candidates. Applicants should have a PhD and a record of demonstrable research and teaching record in the general area of Software Engineering. Candidates with interests in any area of software engineering are encouraged to apply. However, preference will be given to those with strong research and teaching interests in the software engineering of cyber-physical systems, next-generation systems like Internet-of-Things (IoT), distributed systems, safety-critical and secure software systems to support the School's recent investments in those areas.
These positions involve conducting research and the teaching and development of undergraduate and specialised postgraduate courses. The successful applicant will be expected to make substantial contributions to our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and to the supervision of student research projects.
This is a large School consisting of six departments: Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Built Environment (including Construction Management, Marine and Architectural Engineering), Computer Science, Information Technology & Software Engineering, and Mathematical Sciences. The curricula spans undergraduate degrees (Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences, Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences) and large postgraduate programmes (Masters, MPhil and PhD). The School is very research active and industry engaged.
At this time the School has some 2,900 equivalent full-time students and 160 academic staff with approximately 150 PhD students. Growth is observable in all areas of operation. The School also has collaborative teaching arrangements with universities in Vietnam and China (approximately 150 undergraduate students).
