W2 Professorship for the Mobile / Distributed Systems The University of Trier, Department of Computer Science

We are looking for a computer scientist with proven knowledge in the development of mobile or distributed systems as well as with practical experience in the implementation of software development projects in this area. Additional knowledge of IT security is desirable. They should be able to demonstrate particular achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in at least two of the following areas: Software development for mobile platforms (preferably Android, iOS, cross-platform development) Development of distributed and parallel applications Computer networks, mobile communication systems IT security in mobile / distributed systems (eg security-by-design, software security, security analyzes) Cloud computing Internet of Things, Cyber-Physical-Computing, M2M High availability, load balancing, fault tolerance in mobile / distributed systems The future jobseekers are to represent their respective fields in teaching and applied research. We are also looking forward to the establishment and expansion of research activities as well as our commitment to the further development of the faculty and postgraduate courses of the Department of Computer Science. We offer four 6-semester Bachelor's degree programs, two 4-semester Master's programs and a Master's degree in Computer Science. We expect the willingness to cooperate in all the courses mentioned above, including the basic training, as well as the ability and willingness to conduct teaching events in areas other than the field of learning. We assume that the future job holders will hold lectures in German and, if necessary, also in English. We also anticipate the willingness to participate in self-management.
