Job summaryThe Department of Computer Science at Brock University invites applications for an entry-level probationary tenure-track position. Applications will be considered at the rank of Assistant Professor and will commence July 1, 2017. The position is subject to final budgetary approval. QualificationsApplicants who hold a recently obtained Ph.D degree (or are near completion) in research areas that diversify the department's research strengths and undergraduate programs, are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant is expected to establish a research program in his/her areas and to supervise MSc students in the graduate program. The candidate must also demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate education, including an interest in teaching foundational and core computer science. NotesThe Department The Department of Computer Science at Brock (www.cosc.brocku.ca/) offers four-year undergraduate programs of study leading to major and honours BSc, Co-op honours BSc and combined honours BSc with various other disciplines. The department partners with other departments, faculties and institutions to offer cross-disciplinary honours programs in Computing and Business (Faculty of Business), Computing and Solid-State Device Technology (Physics), Computing and Network Communications (Sheridan College), Game Programming (Interactive Arts and Science and Niagara College). It also provides a Minor in Applied Computing. In addition, we offer a program leading to the Master of Science (MSc) degree. The faculty members perform research in many areas of computer science as well as transdisciplinary research.
