Research Fellow in Robotics

Are you an experienced and ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have a background in robotics for rehabilitation? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?

This project aims to develop smart exoskeletons for rehabilitation of stroke patients and supporting people with disability. It will include the design of new robotic mechanisms, modelling of human musculoskeletal systems and robots, interaction of human and robots and iterative learning strategies. The project will involve clinical evaluation of the robots and interaction with patients. You will lead the development of suitable exoskeletons and design schemes, and explore innovative mechanisms and control strategies to explore the potential of robots in physical rehabilitation.

You will have a strong background in mechatronics and robotics in medicine, together with experience in medical devices development, modelling and control theory, software and hardware development, and an enthusiastic, proactive approach to research.
