Faculty positions in Mathematics Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), Department of Mathematics
Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), established in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), is seeking exceptional faculty members for tenure-track and tenured positions (including senior faculty) in various areas of mathematics. The University’s programs are organized into four ‘pillars’, each leading to a separate degree program but all supported by a common three-semester core in mathematics, science, humanities, social science, and design. The mathematics faculty members are affiliated with the pillar of Engineering Systems and Design (ESD).
SUTD is characterized by a breadth of intellectual perspectives, a focus on engineering and technological foundations, and an emphasis on design, innovation, and creativity. SUTD has the advantage of a very low student-to-teacher ratio and can thus pursue numerous innovations in pedagogy.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will be expected to teach active-learning courses in calculus and linear algebra, as well as topics such as differential equations, discrete mathematics, probability, optimization, and statistics. The preferred candidate will have synergistic research interests with faculty in the ESD pillar.
Additional information about the university and the Engineering Systems and Design pillar can be found at www.sutd.edu.sg.
