The Ambient Intelligence group (ambientintelligence.aalto.fi) is part of the Department of Communications and Engineering at Aalto University, which is the largest unit in Finland in its areaand conducts fundamental and applied experimental research in communications and (distributed) networking. This covers radio-based perception, radio-based localization, usable security and edge-supported IoT. In shaping the Internet technology, the department is a significant force internationally. Aalto University specializes in science, art, technology and business and is excellently ranked1. It was founded 2010 by merging three Universities,leading and renowned in their respective fields: Helsinki School of Economics, University of Art and Design Helsinki, and Helsinki University of Technology. We seek a PostDocwith expertise in Pervasive Computing to strengthen our interdisciplinaryteam. The candidate should have a strong technical background and experience in fields related, but not limited to
The position offers unique possibilities to attain excellent qualifications for top academic and industrial research positions. You will be leading a group of researchers and are expected to develop and distinctively sharpen the research theme of your area. You will take on personnel responsibility for the doctoral researchers and promote their and your high quality international publications. Through project work and research visits you will maintain close collaboration with international partners. You are expected to help acquire and manage third-party funded projects. The position is research-focused but involvement in teaching is welcome if desired. You should fulfill the following requirements:
The starting date is September 1 2017 (fully funded for 3 years). PostDoc entrance-level salary is around 3,500-3,900 €/month, depending on experience and qualifications, and increases with responsibilities and performance. Occupational health and social security benefits are included.
