Postdoc in Quantum Electro- and Optomechanics

 

The position


The Niels Bohr Institute of the University of Copenhagen is offering postdoc positions in the area of Quantum Electro- and Optomechanics, aiming at the generation and transduction of non-classical and entangled states between electronic, optical and mechanical degrees of freedom. Different sub-projects are available, among which a focus area may be chosen. Most research will be based on our recently developed phononic crystal devices with unprecedented mechanical coherence.

The position is open from August 2017 or after agreement with the candidate.

 

The candidate


The successful applicant has a strong background and an excellent PhD degree in experimental physics, and has accumulated experience in several relevant fields, which include fabrication and modeling of nano- and micromechanical devices, superconducting electronics, cryogenics and quantum optics. Experience with guiding junior students is an additional advantage.

 

Terms of employment


The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

 

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
