The Institute of Computer Science of the University of Bern (Switzerland) invites applications for two positions of Professor of Computer Science (“open rank”) starting August 1, 2018, respectively February 1, 2019 (starting date open to negotiation). We are seeking internationally established researchers with preference for candidates with research and teaching expertise in one of the following areas: Computer Graphics, Data Science, Security, Logic.
The University of Bern is currently strengthening its profile in the context of the Swiss personalized health initiative and welcomes applications in data sciences that are able to contribute significantly to our interdisciplinary center for precision medicine.
In addition to establishing a research group, the successful candidate is expected to contribute to a share of the teaching in the Bachelors and Masters Program in Computer Science and to the collective administration of the institute. Candidates should be prepared to teach Bachelor courses in German within a period of two years.
