About the role
An opportunistic role exists for a self-motivated academic to play a key role in the coordination and teaching of quality subjects and courses in Data Science. In this role you will also conduct innovative and high impact research, produce quality publications and contribute to La Trobe’s research excellence. The supervision of Higher Degree by Research honours and post graduate students together with the engagement with industry to develop technologies and systems that have an impact is an expectation of this vital role.
Skills & Experience
You will possess a PhD qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience, a strong record of research publication and interdisciplinary research collaboration especially in the cross areas of Data Science and Visualisation. Demonstrated competencies in computer coding and demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and a high proficiency with two or more predictive analytics tools is required to be considered for this role.
The Department is looking for a strong candidate in the area of data science to support the new emerging areas of multidisciplinary applied analytics and visual analytics.
A graduate Certificate in Higher Education or evidence of equivalent professional preparation for H.E teaching is advantageous.
