The role
The appointee will work on projects on novel and exciting applications of decision making in partial observable situations. The appointee will work closely with Dr Hanna Kurniawati and her research team at The University of Queensland (UQ), and with research partners at the Australian Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) through their Data61 business unit.
The person
You should have a PhD in the area of computer science or software engineering or related fields. Demonstrated experience in algorithm design and software development; and in the area of autonomous decision making in the presence of partial observability (including in problem modelling, algorithm design and analysis, and implementation in this area) is essential. As is high level communication and interpersonal skill and the ability to work collaboratively.

This is a full-time fixed-term appointment available at Academic Research Level A or Level B. Appointment level will be commensurate to qualifications and experience.
The remuneration package for Academic Research Level A will be in the range $64,534 - $87,535 per annum plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $75,504 - $102,416 per annum).
The remuneration package for Academic Research Level B will be in the range $92,143 - $109,419 per annum plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $107,807 - $128,020 per annum).
