The Faculty of Engineering engages in the Department of Computer Science at the earliest possible date
W1-Juniorprofessur for computer science
in a temporary employment relationship for a period of three years. After positive evaluation, an extension to a total of six years is envisaged.
Scientists are invited to apply for research in the area of the design of dependable embedded systems ("Dependable Embedded Systems"), who are able to represent the field independently in teaching and have the necessary didactic prerequisites. The focus of the professorship at the Department of Computer Science 12 (hardware software co-design) underscores the design automation concept as a supporting concept for the design of embedded systems and is intended to take account of the deepening of the research focus on the reliability of embedded systems.
The applicant should be scientifically excellently qualified in more than one of the following areas:
Analysis and synthesis of reliable systems (reliability, time behavior, availability, safety)
Modeling, analysis and multicriteria optimization of embedded systems
design automation
Verification and Validation of Reliable Systems.
Experience in the academic support of employees, excellent publication services, third-party advertising as well as abroad experience and willingness to cooperate are welcome.
Prerequisites for admission are a completed university degree in computer science or engineering, a pedagogical aptitude, a special qualification in scientific work, which is usually demonstrated by the outstanding qualification of a doctorate. If, before or after the doctorate, an employment as a research assistant or as an academic assistant has taken place, the promotion and employment phase together should not have lasted more than six years.
The FAU expects participation in the academic self-administration, the commitment to the acquisition of third-party funding and a high presence at the university to the intensive care of the students.
