DESCRIPTION
The Department of Computer Science (www.cs.uci.edu) at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), invites applications for two tenure-track assistant or tenured associate/full professor positions beginning July 1, 2018. These positions are part of a collaborative hiring effort across the Departments of Computer Science and Statistics at the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences at UCI. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree (or expected by Fall 2018) in computer science or a related field. Candidates with research interests in all areas of computer science related to data science will be considered; the department has particular interest in individuals with research areas relevant to temporal and/or spatial data.
The Department of Computer Science is the largest department in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences, with 45 full-time faculty members (including 10 ACM Fellows) and over 300 MS and PhD students. Faculty research is vibrant and broad, spanning algorithms, artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, computer vision, databases, distributed systems, embedded systems, graphics, machine learning, multimedia, networking, operating systems, scientific computing, security, and software.
