Nobel Laureate Professor Aaron Ciechanover serves as Vice Chancellor of the new institute. Guangdong Technion will follow the academic model of the campus in Haifa, Israel, dedicated to science and technology research and education. The language of instruction is English.
Guangdong Technion has launched its first 3 undergraduate programs: 1) Chemical Engineering; 2) Biotechnology & Food Engineering; and 3) Materials Engineering. Graduate programs in these and related fields are also being offered in coordination with the Technion's Graduate School.
Tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks for exceptional candidates are now available in the following disciplines:

• Materials Science and Engineering
• Environmental Engineering
• Chemistry
• Mathematics
• Physics
• As well as supporting subjects such as English and General Studies (Chinese)
