Senior Research Fellow (two positions)

Oxford Internet Institute, 1 St Giles, Oxford

Grade 9: £46,336 - £53,691 p.a.

The Oxford Internet Institute (OII) is the world’s leading centre for research into individual, collective and institutional behaviour on the internet. We are looking for two experienced Senior Research Fellows with an established international reputation to augment our multidisciplinary team, to provide research leadership, and to contribute to the department’s extensive and innovative research portfolio.

These positions offer researchers of outstanding promise or distinction an opportunity to pursue advanced research and teaching focusing on understanding all aspects of digital life. We are particularly interested in applications from candidates with a research interest in either social data science or in issues relating to equality, diversity and inclusion. The post holders will be key members of the research community at the OII and will have full responsibility for managing their own programme of research, publishing in leading journals, representing the department internationally, and teaching and supervising students on our graduate programmes.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced researcher with a doctorate in a relevant social science such as economics, political science, social psychology, law, geography, anthropology or development. Applications from those with a track record of multi-disciplinary research on digital policy issues who have doctorates in other relevant social science disciplines will also be welcomed. The ideal candidates will have a strong publication record, demonstrable experience of policy engagement and a track record in successfully applying for research funding. Based in the heart of Oxford, these posts are available immediately and are offered for five years in the first instance.
