Postdoctoral Research Assistant
We invite applications from strong candidates with a PhD* in Pure Mathematics to work on the Leverhulme Trust funded project, “The Lipschitz metric and the conjugacy problem for automorphisms of free groups”, with Dr. Armando Martino. This is a three year, fixed term position.
* Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
The successful applicant will become part of the vibrant research environment at the School of Mathematical Sciences, and will join the Pure Mathematics Group; this group encompasses a variety of research interests including outstanding expertise in Geometric Group Theory, and offers a welcoming environment with an excellent track record of postdoctoral development.
The successful candidate will have a background in Geometric Group Theory, and those with experience of Culler-Vogtmann Space will be preferred.
This post is due to start on the 1st September, 2018, with a starting salary of £29,799 per annum.
