Required Qualifications Earned doctorate in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution. Appropriate record of teaching and scholarship commensurate to being hired at the level of Associate Professor or Full Professor. Experience in program assessment. Preferred Qualifications Prior academic administrative and/or industrial experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Experience or commitment to the use of technology in distance learning & university teaching. Interest in collaborating both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning. Must value continued scholarship and service to the school and university. Salary Range Salary is competitive & commensurate with rank & experience Job Duties Essential Job Duties • Oversees all aspects of the Software Engineering program curriculum. Tasks include coordinating program and departmental assessment, scheduling classes, assigning courses to faculty, conducting searches for faculty positions (full-time and adjunct), and making course changes. • Leads and assist with accreditation and program reviews (ABET, SACS, etc.). • Provides liaison and information to the advising office as needed. • Manages the departmental budget. • Engage in, encourage, and assist department faculty with scholarly activities and the development of quality curriculum and instruction. • Conduct annual performance reviews of departmental faculty. • Provide recommendations for promotion and termination. • Respond to student concerns as appropriate. • Serve on appropriate committees at the College and University level as needed.
