Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Brain Modelling
The Postdoctoral Research Assistant (PDRA) will study problems related to the modelling of the brain as part of a new 5-year research programme funded by the EPSRC. A key aim of this project is to develop new multiscale models of the brain linking cellular processes to shape and functions. The PDRA will join a dynamic group exploring these problems at multiple levels by combining asymptotic analysis and numerical simulation. The PDRA will also be given the opportunity to undertake teaching which will not exceed 3 hours per week for 24 weeks per annum.
Applicants will be expected to have, or be close to completing, a PhD in mathematics or a related discipline, have a very good research and publication record, judged by the applicant’s career stage, possess specialist knowledge relevant to the research programme together with the ability to manage own academic research and associated activities.
