Job summary

Applications are invited for the post of CFM-Imperial Research Associate in Quantitative Finance in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London. This position is funded through the CFM-Imperial Institute for Quantitative Finance. The CFM-Imperial Institute of Quantitative Finance was established in 2014 through a partnership between Imperial College's Mathematical Finance Group and Capital Fund Management (CFM).

 

Duties and responsibilities

The Research Associate will collaborate on research projects within the Mathematical Finance section and will contribute to the activities of the CFM-Imperial Institute of Quantitative Finance. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge problems in Quantitative Finance in close collaboration with leaders in the field and with CFM. The post is a research position only, and teaching is not required.

 

Essential requirements

The essential requirements for this post are as follows:
•A PhD in Mathematics or a closely related subject (or equivalent), or be close to finishing
•Research experience in Quantitative Finance
•Evidence of an outstanding research record commensurate with experience as demonstrated, for example, through an outstanding thesis, publications, conference presentations
•Ability to deliver high quality scientific talks
•Ability to develop and apply new concepts
•Excellent written communication skills and the ability to write clearly and succinctly for publication
•Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to deal with a wide range of people

*Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as Research Assistant within the Level A, salary range £33,380 - £35,061 per annum.
