Tenure-track assistant Professor of Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) Department of Computer Science Faculty of Science University of Copenhagen The Department of Computer Science is expanding its research and educational activities and hereby invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship within the CSCW research area. The assistant professor will join the CSCW research group (cf. https://di.ku.dk/english/research/hcc/cscw) either as part of the department’s Human-Centred Computing Section (HCC) or the department's Software, Data, People & Society Section (SDPS). The HCC section's research is concerned with the theory and practice of how people engage with computing and spans research within CSCW, human-computer interaction (HCI) and information systems. The focus of the SDPS Section is research in technologies and methods for development of software systems which are suited for the people developing and using the software systems thereby creating value for society – often in an interdisciplinary setting. Preferred candidates should have a PhD degree in computer science, a related field relevant for CSCW, or equivalent a track-record of research exploring the appropriation and use of collaborative technologies in complex and demanding cooperative settings such as architecture, global software development, and healthcare research experience in the area of CSCW concrete experience in setting up partnerships with stakeholders outside the university. Relevant professional or industry experience would be an added advantage. demonstrated impact within the CSCW field e.g. by a growing record at relevant venues including ECSCW, JCSCW, ACM CSCW, and CSCW-track at CHI. Relevant CSCW subareas include (but are not limited to): Transformation of cooperative work through data-driven technologies (e.g. sensor tracking and VR); Critical design & civic engagement (e.g. IoT and open design technologies); and Politics of information infrastructures & cooperative technologies. The tenure track assistant professor’s duties will primarily include research and teaching within, but not limited to, CSCW. The department values cross-disciplinary research and teaching and is actively involved in several cross-faculty research projects and educational programs. Thus, the preferred candidate must be capable of and interested in facilitating cross-disciplinary interactions both within the Department of Computer Science and across the university. The candidate must be prepared to engage in cross-disciplinary teaching, including courses for students with a non-technical background, e.g., the humanities or health sciences. The tenure-track assistant professor must have an academic standing showing internationally competitive research, and/or have internationally recognized high potential to make a future impact. The tenure-track programme An assigned mentor will provide the tenure-track assistant professors with guidance related to career development, other academic topics and administrative procedures. Performance of the tenure-track assistant professor will be followed via internal yearly evaluations and a mid-term and final international evaluation by an assessment committee. If the ‘final appraisal’ is positive you will be promoted as associate professor.
