The Center for Digital Technology and Management of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) and the Technische Universität München (TUM) is looking for a research associate with a PhD on September 1st. As part of the CDTM management team, you and your colleagues are responsible for the operational business and strategic development of the facility.

The CDTM is a joint institution of the two universities LMU and TUM. In teaching, the CDTM offers the English-language elite degree program Technology Management with a focus on the interdisciplinary exchange between students of business administration, electrical engineering and computer science. Your area of responsibility: As part of the CDTM management team, you and your colleagues are responsible for the operational business and strategic development of the facility. In teaching, you lead the course Managing Product Development together with a colleague and other elective courses. In addition, you lead the team People Operations, which aims to create a successful and growing CDTM network. They supervise and lead a team of highly motivated students and work together on recruiting, Further training initiatives and a kick-off weekend for the new CDTM generation. In addition, you represent the CDTM and its interests to partners from science and practice. Your doctorate can be designed according to your own interests and implemented under supervision of the TUM or LMU. Your competence profile:


  • You have completed a master's degree (at least 120 ECTS) or equivalent of (business / media) computer science, electrical engineering and information technology, business administration, economics, industrial engineering or related fields and have completed your studies with excellent results.
  • You have already gained experience in project teams during your studies and / or your previous professional career.
  • It gives you pleasure to inspire other people for new projects and the implementation of ideas and to coordinate the project process. You will be self-confident and professional and will work on your own responsibility and results.
  • You have fluent German and English skills.
  • They have a strong interest in scientific issues and teaching at the interface between management, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • They are pursuing the goal of a doctorate and are already bringing their first ideas for possible topic / supervisor constellations.


Ideally you have ...

  • ... in addition to extensive technical or economic understanding, already have practical experience in the IT industry, management / innovation consulting and / or startups.
