The Project This aim of this project is develop a state-of-the-art automated system integration model based on syntactic and semantic parsing of Application Programming Interfaces. Many organisations use different applications for different business activities e.g. SalesForce for CRM, Sage for accounting and Shopify for e-commerce. Integrating these applications is complex, labour intensive and time consuming because it requires engineers to understand different API formats, structures and documentation. However, a possible automated solution lies in exploiting increasingly sophisticated and widely available natural language processing (NLP) methods and tools. The successful candidate will select a set of NLP methods and tools to construct a lexicon and thesaurus to build an automated API mapping and integration tool. It is expected that this project will generate high-quality publishable outputs and training materials.
